AceShowbiz - Deciding to officially change his stage name to P. Miller as a way to reflect his manhood and mark him venturing into business other than music, Master P is wasting no time to announce his new project. Just days after announcing his name change, he's announcing plans to launch a family-friendly cable network, which is about to be called Better Black Television.
The station is set to start airing in 2009, with no precise date has been mentioned as of press time. Its content, according to reports, will include "drama and comedy series, movies, animation, reality, politics, sports and entertainment news, children's educational and teen programming, as well as 'responsible hip-hop music and videos'".
Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington is one among those people who lend a helping hand to serve as BBTV advisory board members. It is expected that the new network will be in direct competition with Black Entertainment Television (BET) and MTV.
"I believe that there is a market in our community for a new diverse network that provides a new brand of superior programming that caters to all aspects of television, from reality to original programming," Miller said about his upcoming TV network. "We believe TV content can be positive and responsible and still have good ratings with great content."
He moreover added that while BBTV will go after BET and MTV's viewers he and his rapper son Lil' Romeo "will continue to do work with them and support their networks."
BBTV's initial content programming that is under works are on Billboard.com.
