Hip hop star Master P has decided to officially change his stage name to P. Miller as a mark of his manhood.

recently says that he wants to change his stage name to P. Miller. The change happens because he wants to move to a more mature level. During an interview, he says, "I am changing my name because Master P is who I used to be, I call it my childhood and P. Miller marks my manhood."

Beside to reflect his maturity, he also wants to move away from hip hop stereotype. He says, "Growing up has nothing to do with age. People grow up mentally and spiritually through life experiences, but when you come from hip-hop it is almost impossible to get past the stereo-type it associates you with. I will always love hip-hop; it plays a major role in who I am today."

However, he promises that though his name is changed, he does not have any intention to remove his past as it gives him a life experience that helps him to be the man he is now. "I wouldn't change my past because it has groomed me to be the man I am today," he explains.

Master P has made some expansions into so many business areas outside hip hop. He founds No Limit Entertainment. At one point in his career, he has successfully built his business to a big business empire that includes No Limit Records and No Limit Films. Furthermore, he has also been ranked as the tenth highest paid entertainer by Forbes magazine in 1998 with an estimated business dealings of $661 millions. In addition, he has also used his success to support and motivate others through two charitable organizations, P. Miller Youth Centers and the P. Miller Food Foundation.

At the end of his statement, he reveals his concern towards younger hip hop artists. He says, "It's important for young hip-hop artists to know that they are not limited to one career, they can educate themselves, and prepare for life after hip-hop the same way pro-athletes prepare themselves for life after sports. Also, know that you can branch out into other avenues if you are multi-talented or have other dreams. Many of us can begin new careers, take advantage of different opportunities and still remain true to hip-hop."

Meanwhile, for future project, Master P says that he wants to build an educated hip hop generation. "My goal is to educate the hip-hop culture now and if they don't get it, then hopefully their kids will get it and understand. My fellow hip-hop artists should know that we can't rap forever. I'm glad I'm in a position in my life where I don't have to put out music because I've prepared myself for the future. To build the generational wealth we have to educate our families," he confirms.
