AceShowbiz - John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston split up and confirmation on that matter seems to have been accepted that multiple sources have confirmed their break up. The split was first reported Wednesday, August 13 by the U.K.'s Mirror, which claimed the couple split earlier this week after initially deciding to spend some time apart.
Reporting that it was John who initiated the split, the tabloid quoted a source close to the singer as saying, "There's been a bit of tension for some time. They initially opted for a break, hoping a trial split might make them stronger. Sadly it doesn't seem to have worked." The source added, "John took the decision to end things as he felt he just wasn't ready for the level of commitment that Jennifer deserved."
Jen reportedly "was furious when he told her of his decision but now she's simply sad - not to mention a little heartbroken." She, contrary to many media reports, "didn't want to have kids or marry this year, but she did want to set a timetable for their future together. She also wanted him to assure her he would cut down his tours in the future when they did eventually have children," the source said.
In further confirmation, the source revealed that a reunion is unlikely since both John and Jen "have spoken on the phone since the split and are trying to remain on good terms. But unless John has a dramatic change of heart, it's unlikely they'll rekindle their romance."
John and Jen made their first public outing as a couple in April and have since then often been spotted together in public places. Report on their break up has been circulating for some time and it seems ironic since the actress has just completed filming her latest movie, titled "He's Just Not That Into You".
