Being released from Memphis' Regional Medical Center Thursday, August 7, the actor said he's "doing very well. I feel really good" and offered "many, many thanks to my many well-wishers."

AceShowbiz - Morgan Freeman is a hospital patient no more. He's been discharged from Memphis' Regional Medical Center Thursday, August 7, just four days after he was sent there following a car accident in Mississippi over the weekend.

Speaking on his hospital release to E! News, the actor said "I left the hospital today just after 12 noon, Memphis time. I'm doing very well. I feel really good." He continued saying, "I just really, I thank the staff at Elvis Presley [Hospital] and many, many thanks to my many well-wishers. It's great to know people care about you."

A representative for him gave an update on his latest condition, telling People "He's recovering nicely at home, and his career will continue as planned."

Freeman's business partner and attorney Bill Luckett said that the actor will have to wear a neck brace for the next six to eight months. "The doctors have said it will be six months to a year before he plays golf again," he said, adding "He hates that."

Report on Freeman's hospital release comes hot on the heels of Bill's confirmation that he and wife Myrna Colley-Lee have called it quits after 24-years of marriage. Bill said the couple have been separated since December last year and their divorce has been in the works even before the accident occurred.
