The co-star of Scarlett Johansson in 'The Other Boleyn Girl' has created such a buzz with the conflicting news about her being cast for 'Suspiria' reboot.

AceShowbiz - In a recent casting rumor hitting the media, it has been reported that Hollywood starlet Natalie Portman has been tapped to headline the remake of Dario Argento's 1977 horror, "Suspiria". The interesting tidbit about this news is that Portman's publicist has responded to the speculation by nixing it, but Bloody Disgusting, the site which came out with the confirmation on the casting, stands firm with their report.

Regardless whether the story is true or not, if the 27-year-old is indeed attached to the project, she will be playing the main character originally portrayed by Jessica Harper. It means that she will slip on ballet shoes and depict a young American ballet student going to Germany to attend a prestigious dance academy only to find the school to be a cover up for a coven.

Eyeing 2010 release, the reboot flick has "Pineapple Express" helmer, David Gordon Green, attached to direct. When confirming on the incarnation of the classic horror film in March 2008, Green stated, "Supiria is a classic to me. I want to be scared. I want to be afraid. It's an opportunity to take all artistic excellence and be inspired by what was a low budget Italian 70's gore movie. Where the art world meets the violent and supernatural. I would love to get every geek that loves torture porn and every old lady in line to see 'Phantom of the Opera' to come and have this insane experience."
