After months sticking with NC-17 rating, the Motion Picture Association of America has finally agreed to give the R-rating to the Kevin Smith's comedy 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno'.

After months fighting to lower the rating given for his forthcoming comedy "", filmmaker Kevin Smith finally wins the appeal to get the 'R' rating. On Tuesday, August 5, the Motion Picture Association of America announced that the classification of the raunchy comedy has been revised.

According to Elizabeth Kaltman, the MPAA's spokeswoman, the dropping down of the NC-17 rating, which does not allow anyone from the age of 17 years old and under to see the film, to the R rating has been done after the group's appeals board saw The Weinstein Company's movie. With the new rating, the and -starring comedy can now be seen by the younger audience with parental or guardian's company.

To The Associated Press, Smith comments on the previous MPAA's rating, "We didn't set out to make an NC-17 film. That's just commercial suicide." Explaining that the initial objection to give the R-rating came due to the two sex scenes involving co-stars and Katie Morgan, the 38-year-old noted that he has toned down the sexy scenes in the effort to win the MPAA.

"They felt it was rather sexually graphic. My point is, it was comically graphic. All the sex in the movie with the exception of one scene is very cartoonish, very campy," the Frederick 'Warlock' Kaludis in "" shared his battle experience with the rating board. "It wasn't designed to titillate."

Due to be outed on Halloween Day on October 31, "Zack and Miri" tells the story of two best friends and roommates who come out with an idea to make a porn film to pay off their debts. It is said that the Scott Mosier-produced flick will have former porn star appearing in it. Additionally, it has been rumored that and will also be making cameo appearance as porn star couples.
