Her hospitalization, according to her longtime representative, was a precaution and despite rumors that she's put on a life-support machine after suffering from congestive heart failure she's fine.

AceShowbiz - The hospitalization of veteran actress Elizabeth Taylor has become talk of the town. A representative for her in fact was quick to set the record straight on that matter, issued a statement confirming the star is fine despite her hospital visit.

The National Enquirer broke the news that Liz was put on a life-support machine after suffering from congestive heart failure. It is also claimed that her children were called to her bedside. The report cited what the site dubbed as simply "a friend". Britain's Daily Mail published a similar account too.

Dick Guttman, a longtime representative for the aging screen icon, shot down reports that the 76-year-old star was on her deathbed suffering from congestive heart failure. In a statement issued Thursday, July 31 Guttman said, "Ms. Taylor is fine. The rumors which began in England about her health are dramatic, overstated and untrue. Her hospital visit was precautionary. She will be returning home shortly."

Guttman continued saying, "At present, she is surrounded by family, friends and fabulous jewels."

It is not mentioned on where Liz is being treated. Word has it that she's been admitted at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica.

Liz has been dogged by a number of health issues through the years. Back in 2004 she was reported to have experienced congestive heart failure that left her nearly bedridden. Worse she's also battled ulcers, amoebic dysentery, bursitis, acute bronchitis, two serious bouts of pneumonia, drug and alcohol addiction and a benign brain tumor which was removed in 1997.
