Robin Hood's Twisted Tale of 'Nottingham' On Hold
Movie

Before the upcoming Robin Hood movie project from Ridley Scott has even fallen into production, it has been reported to be delayed due to several problems.

AceShowbiz - Having had Russell Crowe and Sienna Miller lining up for "Nottingham" apparently is not enough to keep it away from any problem. Words are the production of the latest and twisted Robin Hood movie which has been set to start in mid-August in London has been postponed indefinitely.

Reports claimed that there are a number of reasons posted by Universal Pictures regarding the production delay. In the first place, it is said that the studio expressed their concern over the possible SAG strike. Then, they want the shooting location, the forest, to be green and last but not least, Universal proposed that there is problem with the script written by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris which has been rewritten by Brian Helgeland.

"The current version of the screenplay," the production company explained, "is not yet where the studio and the filmmakers want it to be in terms of realizing the full value of the story. Universal could have moved forward with one of these challenges, but the confluence of the three caused the studio to reconsider and take the time for all conditions to be optimal."

Offering the love triangle story between the master of thief Robin Hood, his Maid Marion and his forever foe, the Sheriff of Nottingham, "Nottingham" is described to be the film which presents Hood as the villain and Sheriff of Nottingham as the do-gooder. The action drama flick is originally scheduled to be released on November 6, 2009.

While Crowe has been attached for the Sheriff of Nottingham role and Miller for Maid Marian role, the Robin Hood role has yet to be filled. It is said that Scott has eyed Christian Bale to take the part. Still, so far, there is no word yet on the truth of the speculation.
