The rapper's new album has managed to live up to its expectation after taking the top spot on the U.S. album's chart

AceShowbiz - Just as it was predicted Nas' new untitled LP has indeed topped the Billboard Hot 200 chart this week replacing the previous chart topper Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III". The untitled LP's success was triggered by its sale that reached the 187,000 copies this past weekend.

Nas' new album's success in leading the U.S. Albums chart this week becomes the fifth time for the rapper until this year. His latest LP that managed to top the Billboard Hot 200 was "Hip Hop Is Dead" in 2006.

On the chart, Wayne's new album's sale decrease that only managed to sell 105,000 units this past weekend was the reason he fails to keep its #1 position. Meanwhile, at #3 comes the soundtrack album for the new movie "Mamma Mia!", that was sold about 91,000 copies.

Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" starting to lose its ground on the chart after dropping 2 places 2-4 after only selling 90,000. The same thing also happened for Disney's "Camp Rock" soundtrack that slips 3-5 with 78,000 units sold. Following at #6 is Kid Rock's "Rock N Roll Jesus" with 73,000.

Taking the #7 with 56,000 copies sold is John Mellencamp's "Life, Death, Love and Freedom" and just behind John at #8 is David Banner with his latest outing "The Greatest Story Ever Told" which sold 52,000 units on its first week. Young country star Taylor Swift takes the #9 seat with her new exclusive Wall-mart EP/DVD, "Beautiful Eyes" which sale reached 45,000 units.
