Jonas Brothers Tapped to Headline the 2008 MTV VMA

The music channel's annual award show organizers have announced that the teen pop/rock act will be performing at this year's event.

AceShowbiz - It seems that the upcoming 2008 MTV VMA will be filled with many teen fans after the event's organizer announced that the Jonas Brothers will be headlining the event. The confirmation of that news was revealed by the band themselves during their performance at FNMTV on July 18.

In their press release, the Brothers expressed their excitement of being tapped to perform at the annual event saying, "This is an awesome opportunity". Moreover they also added, "We have grown up watching all the amazing and iconic performances on the VMAs. It is an honor to be a part of something so incredible."

The event itself will be aired Live on September 7 at 9 p.m. at the Paramount Pictures lot in L.A. Until this date, beside the Brothers, the event organizers haven't announced another performers and also the host for the show yet.

Meanwhile, the teen pop/rock act themselves at the moment is still busy preparing the release of their new album "A Little Bit Longer", which is scheduled to hit the shelves on August 12. Promoting their upcoming record, the band have just spawned their second single "Pushin' Me Away" on July 15 via iTunes music store.
