With the rumor around the possible signing of Darren Aronofsky as its director hypening up, the latest 'RoboCop' film is suggested to be a sequel rather than a reboot.

AceShowbiz - The buzz around the possible development of another "RoboCop" movie is clearly hyped up. Following speculation that "The Fountain" filmmaker Darren Aronofsky is the front runner to direct the movie project, recent words circulating around sparked an opposing statement to the suggested remake idea.
The latest report from Bloody-disgusting provided hint that this "RoboCop" feature film project is more likely to be a sequel rather than a reboot like what has been put out before. The new speculation was sparked by the film's logline which read, "Present day Los Angeles, 20 years after the termination of the RoboCop program, the city decides to reinstate the program."
Much about this movie is still left uncertain. But, it is said to be produced by MGM for 2010 release. The original "RoboCop" movie starring Peter Weller has been released in July 17, 1987 and since then it has spawned into two sequels, four television series and two comic book adaptations as well as merchandise. The core of the film resolves around a brutally murdered police officer who is brought back to life in the form of super-human cyborg.
