'Mamma Mia!' to Hold Singing Contest, Free Tickets for Participants

To celebrate the opening day of comedy musical 'Mamma Mia!', Universal Pictures will be holding a 'Mamma Mia!' Singing Contest which will give free tickets for the first 100 participants.

AceShowbiz - This coming Friday, July 18, the upcoming drama musical "Mamma Mia!" will be screened in various theaters across the country simultaneously for the first time. And, in the spirit of celebration for this opening day, Universal Pictures are going to conduct a "Mamma Mia!" Singing Contest on the exact date the movie is being released nationwide.

Open for general public, the contest claiming that everyone is a winner will be located at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, California and will take place exactly at The Green starting from 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. This special event will require the participants to sing one of the many beloved ABBA songs featured in the film.

To hyphen up the excitement even more, Universal will also give free tickets to the first 100 entrants to see the Meryl Streep-starring movie later that day at Pacific Theatres Glendale 18. The direction for the venue can be obtained through Americana at Brand.

Featuring the famous ABBA's songs from "Dancing Queen" to "Take a Chance on Me", "Mamma Mia!" is a romantic comedy movie following Donna and her daughter, Sophie. About to be married and still having no clues about her real father, Sophie invites three men from her mother's past and digs up to find the truth. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the movie stars also Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Julie Walters, Dominic Cooper and Christine Baranski.
