Album Review: Foreigner's Greatest Hits
Music

A look at the legendary rockers' upcoming special compilation LP "No End In Sight: The Very Best of Foreigner", that will be dropped on July 15.

AceShowbiz - Foreigner are about to release their greatest hits album titled "No End In Sight: The Very Best of Foreigner", that will hit the stores on Tuesday, July 15. The new album will be giving their fans and also all classic rock mania a treat as the two-disc set will contain about 32-songs including one new single, "Too Late" and some live tracks.

Giving a bit of preview of what we might get from the upcoming greatest hits album, listening to about 14 tracks that will be on the record, it looks like it could quench the thirst of those classic rock fans. The previous hit songs from the band such as the "I Want to Know What Love Is", "Waiting for a Girl Like You", "Double Vision" or even the 1976 track, "Feels Like The First Time" are more than enough to give us a journey back to those times when the songs have their golden moments. For new music fans, hearing the old hit tracks might sound a little bit odd, but the band have put on a decent effort in re-mastering those songs and making it enjoyable even after all these years.

Although the greatest hits album is being aimed for Foreigner's long time devotees and maybe all the classic rock lovers, the rockers seem aware of the development on the music scenes these days. It can be proven by tuning in to their new single "Too Late", that sounds more "modern" than their old hits. Without drastically changing their musical style, "Too Late" offers something that may attract new fans, hearing the intro might set people's mind on Maroon 5 as the riffs sounds a bit similar to the funk-rockers' music style. But as the song hit the verse, bridge and chorus part, the classic rock vibe re-emerged. Overall, the new single surely brings a new look and freshness of Foreigner, a group that have been around for more than 30 years.

Meanwhile, before purchasing the new compilation set, the band have already given their fans a chance to hear some of the songs on the upcoming album on their official website and MySpace page. Not only that, 6 widgets containing a playlist of the band's songs are also available at flashenhanced.com. Each playlist have 5 random and different songs, but in total there are only 14 songs previewed on the site with the new track "Too Late" is being posted in all six of the widgets.
