Choreographer-turned-director Anne Fletcher has been touted to direct Walt Disney's newest dance comedy project entitled 'The Matadors'.

AceShowbiz - Choreographer-turned-director Anne Fletcher has a new project under her sleeves. After delivering a dance film "Step Up" and romantic comedy "27 Dresses", the 42-year-old has been brought in to helm a new dance comedy movie for Walt Disney Pictures entitled "The Matadors".

For the flick, Fletcher will be working using the script written by "Not Another Teen Movie" scribbler Mike Bender. She also will team up with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot who serve as producers. This project will mark Fletcher's yet another project with Shankman. Previously, she has worked with him in "The Wedding Planner", "Bringing Down the House", "The Pacifier", "Step Up" and "Step Up 2 the Streets".

Commenting on the project, Fletcher said, "These guys who are the ultimate fans, the biggest deed they can do is dance and cheerlead for their team. I wanted to do an all-out comedy, and having the dance elements, that was icing on the cake." Meanwhile, on the possible casting, she revealed that the movie will have actors with "all sorts of shapes and sizes".

Inspired by the professional male cheerleading squad performing at every Chicago Bulls home game, "Matadors" will chronicle the attempt of two pro-basketball superfans in forming a professional male cheerleading squad to support their team. It is said that the mouse house is currently negotiating with the NBA to get full support from the league.
