Lil Wayne Regained Top Spot on the Billboard Hot 200

The rapper's latest LP managed to take the top position on the U.S. albums chart this week replacing the last two weeks chart topper Coldplay's "Viva la Vida".

AceShowbiz - After spending the past two weeks on the runner-up position Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" has managed to regain its chart topper position on Billboard Hot 200 chart this week. Wayne tackled the previous chart leader Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" that dropped one spot to #2.

The rapper's success to get back its top spot was triggered by the selling of "Tha Carter III" this past weekend that reached the amount of 156,000 copies while "Viva la Vida" only managed to sell 149,000. In total, after four weeks of release, the rapper's new LP has been sold about 1.68 million copies.

Following Wayne and the English rockers, at #3 is Disney's Camp Rock soundtrack which featured the Jonas Brothers after selling 116,000 copies. Debuting at #4 is G-Unit's latest LP "T.O.S.: Terminate on Sight", selling 102,000 copies on its first week.

Another debut on the chart comes from John Mayer with his "Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles" that seats at #5 with 75,000 copies sold. The hits compilation album "Now 28" keeps its position on the chart, staying at #6 having sold 59,000. Meanwhile Kid Rock's 2007 set "Rock N Roll Jesus" climbed 12-7 after boosting its sale to 45,000.

The #8 spot is taken by Usher's "Here I Stand", which drops 1 step from last week's #7 after having its sale decreased to 41,000. Climbing one spot from 10-9 this week is Rihanna with her "Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded" that sold 40,000 and the final seat on the top ten chart is claimed by Disturbed's "Indestructible", swapping place with the "Umbrella" singer after only selling about 37,000.
