The 20th Century Fox have presented viewers with a teaser trailer of the Scott Derrickson's sci-fi remake revealing the demolishing of the Earth.

AceShowbiz - The face of the Earth is about to be changed forever and human beings are Earth's only hope of survival. In the freshly released teaser of "The Day the Earth Stood Still", that is exactly what director Scott Derrickson intended to deliver. Displaying a stunning special effects, the teaser views glimpses focusing on the destruction of the Earth.

Giving a real look into the re-imagining of Robert Wise's classic 1951 black-and-white sci-fi- film, the compilation of clips begins with a group of people gathered in a government building being briefed of what they should do. Before the briefing ends, a man calls on one particular woman among the people, Helen Benson, and tells her that he is recruiting her. Then, the mystery starts to unveil slowly but surely.

From a clip of a humanoid alien, Klaatu, being questioned about whether he is aware of the impending attack on the Earth, the teaser moves on showing a mysterious mist destroying anything that is blocking its way. It then leaves with a scene where Klaatu telling Helen, "If the Earth dies, you die. If you die, the earth survives."

Remaking the Wise-directed movie of the same name, "Day the Earth Stood Still" tackles a different theme than the original. While Wise's version opposes man against man idea, this Derrickson's project focuses on the concerns of man against nature. Using a script written by David Scarpa, the 20th Century Fox team up Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, Jon Hamm and Jaden Smith as the cast ensemble for the movie slated for December 12 release.
