Ne-Yo Penned a Michael Jackson Tribute Track on New LP

In a recent interview, the renown singer/songwriter revealed to public that he is a big fan of the king of pop and showing it, on his upcoming record he wrote a song dedicated to the pop mega star.

AceShowbiz - Ne-Yo expressed his admiration to his music idol Michael Jackson in a musical way by writing a tribute song that will be included on the R 'n' B singer's new LP "Year of the Gentleman", set to be released on August 5. The singer/songwriter revealed that news in an interview with MTV as he was explaining about the songs on his upcoming record.

The song that the the singer/songwriter dedicated to the king of pop is titled "Nobody" and it has a different story compared with his previous single "Closer". Speaking about the scenario of "Nobody", Ne-Yo told MTV, "Say she didn't give you anything, but instead she just started dancing, and it was the most amazing thing you've ever seen. It's like she's untouchable, like it would be a sin to touch her or dance with her, with what's going on with her right now."

Moreover Ne-Yo also stated to MTV that he has already played his tribute track to Michael and it received a positive respond by the pop mega star, saying "He told me that he likes the way I do Michael Jackson. I asked him what he meant by that, and he said, 'When you do that, it doesn't feel like you're trying to copy me or trying to be me. It feels like you're complimenting me.' And that's what I'm doing. It means the world that he liked it."

Meanwhile, revealing about his love of Michael, Ne-Yo said to MTV, "Anybody who has been following Ne-Yo from the start knows that I'm a huge, huge Michael Jackson fan. And love is one of the few things on the face of this planet that will never go out of style."

On the last note, Ne-Yo also revealed about about the idea for the songs on his new album saying, "All my albums are so relationship-oriented, that I wanted to get away from doing only that. Nine out of 10 times, what I sing about is what happened to me or what I observed. That's why I go back to the points in my life that were the most painful or the most sad, and for whatever reason, they make the best songs. Everybody loves drama."
