Lil Wayne Tapped to Headline the Voodoo Experience

The "Lollipop" rapper will be joining other famous names such as Stone Temple Pilots and R.E.M. to headline the annual event.

AceShowbiz - The upcoming 2008 Voodoo Experience, to be staged from October 24-26 at New Orleans' City Park, will be more sparkling as the currently hit rapper, Lil Wayne has now been added to play at the star studded event. Wayne will be set as one of the three day music festival, held to celebrate Halloween, headliners among the likes of Stone Temple Pilots, R.E.M. and Nine Inch Nails.

Beside those headline act, the festival is also filled with lots of great musicians from various of genres. Some of the non headliners famous performers at the festival are, Death Cab for Cutie, Erykah Badu, Wyclef Jean, Panic! At the Disco, Joss Stone, Lupe Fiasco and Dashboard Confessional. Beside them, the event will also be enlightened by the appearance of some jazz bands, regarding New Orleans' background as the city on Jazz, such as the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Irving Mayfield's New Orleans Jazz Orchestra.

Before performing at the event, the rapper previously has also been tapped as the closing act at the 2008 BET Awards, which was held at the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles on June 24. Not only performing, at he awards show the rapper also managed to take home a prize, which was the Viewer's Choice Award.

In other news, beside preparing his upcoming gig, Wayne is also set to premiere his new clips soon. Earlier this week on Monday, June 23, the rapper has shot two videos for his new songs, "A Milli" and "Got Money".
