Script for 'School of Rock' Sequel Completed

On a panel discussion at the 2008 Los Angeles Film Festival, scribbler Mike White confessed that he has finished the draft of 'The School of Rock' sequel.

AceShowbiz - In late May, buzzes have hyphened around the possibility of "The School of Rock" sequel with its leading actor Jack Black expressed his interest in going back for the follow-up movie. At the time, it was reported that whether screenwriter Mike White will be back for the sequel is yet unknown. But, on Sunday, June 22, White came out with a great news for fans.

While talking on a panel at the 2008 Los Angeles Film Festival, the scribbler revealed that he has finished the draft for the second "School of Rock" movie. "I actually just completed a draft of what's potentially the sequel," the writer of "The Good Girl" shared. "and I'm still, like, crying as I'm writing the script. I try to come at it from a personal place..." He further revealed that though he has turned in the draft, he doesn't have any idea whether the movie will be made or not.

The first "School of Rock" follows the story of Dewey Finn, a rock band guitarist that has been dumped by his band mates because of his delusions of grandeur. Jobless and in need of money, he then pretends to be a substitute music teacher in prestigious prep school. Finding that his students are more than talented in music, he forms a rock band with them and sets his eyes to win the "Battle of the Bands". The movie has been released on October 3, 2003 and has collected $131.3 million from the worldwide sales.
