Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am Opens Up About 'Wolverine' Movie Role

The hip hop musician has come out to discuss his first movie role, John Wraith, for the upcoming 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'.

AceShowbiz - Famed to be the founding member and frontman of hip hop group Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am is about to break out from his musician image to be a mutant in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" the spin-off to the "X-Men" movie series. And, it seems that he is not shy in sharing his experiences in working for the film and discussing bits of details from "Wolverine".

Confirming that he will be portraying John Wraith a.k.a Kestrel who is one of the 'Team X' members along with Wolverine, Sabretooth, Maverick, Mastodon, and Silver Fox, the hip hop star shared interesting facts about his character to MTV. "I'm a teleporter...I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere. Boom, boom, boom!" explained the band mate of Stacy Ferguson who is famously known as Fergie. "My character's name is John Wraith. He's a black Texan. He's not a cowboy, but his gear suggests that he is. He's just a badass who'll whoop your ass."

Besides describing about Wraith, the "I Got It from My Mama" hitmaker also talked about what he has to go through in shooting for the new film. "You see that little scar I've got on my knuckles?" asked the 33-year-old excitedly. "I'm a newbie when it comes to big action films and stuff...It was my fight scene. I was real into it, and then I missed my mark, and I punched the camera and broke the lens! But that goes to show you I ain't to be messed with, because I break lenses!"

"Wolverine" is a prequel to the "X-Men" trilogy that is focused on the titular character and his Team X before he is turned to be the Wolverine known today whose skeleton was bonded with the indestructible metal adamantium. The movie which is currently still filming is being developed under the direction of "Rendition" helmer Gavin Hood and starred by Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Dominic Monaghan and many others. It is expected to hit theaters on May 1, 2009.
