Lionel Richie Plans Reunion Tour With the Commodores

The legendary singer has hinted out the press that he wants to stage a reunion concert with his former band.

AceShowbiz - Legendary singer Lionel Richie prepares to reunite with his former group the Commodores for another tour. The singer hinted to the press about the reunion plan saying, "We better do it now, or in the next ten years nobody would care."

Lionel also expected that the reunion tour could be done within two years time. He also insisted that they won't hold back any longer from two years because it could be too late and another members of the band pass away. The singer's statement referred to the recent death of the band's guitarist Milan Williams in 2006.

Lionel's idea to stage his band's comeback gigs comes after at his latest concert he was joined on stage by the Commodores' bass player Ronald LaPread on stage. At the concert, the singer and Ronald rewind their memories by playing their band's hit song, such as "Three Times A Lady".

Lionel himself was one of the founding members of the Commodores, that was founded in 1968. In the band, he plays as the lead singer and saxophonist. He decided to depart from the funk act in 1982 in order to pursue his solo career.
