John Cusack Gets Amanda Peet as Former Wife in '2012'

Having tackle various roles in the different feature films, the 'The X-Files: I Want to Believe' actress is heading to '2012' to be John Cusack's ex-wife.

AceShowbiz - Throughout her career, Amanda Peet has portrayed Jack Nicholson's former love interest in "Something's Gotta Give", depicted the girl with whom Ashton Kutcher's character falls in love in "A Lot Like Love" and acting as Matt Damon's wife in "Syriana". Now, she has been tapped to play a role of an ex-wife in "2012 (2009)".

For her latest feature film role, the "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" actress will take one of the main characters starring as John Cusack's former wife who is now newly married to a rich man. By signing in with the project, the 36-year-old actress is joining the heavy-weight cast ensemble that include Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover and Oliver Platt.

"2012" is another epic disaster movie coming from "Independence Day", "The Day After Tomorrow" and "10,000 B.C." director, Roland Emmerich. The story will resolve around global calamity caused by series of natural disasters, such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers and how the survivors struggle to stay alive. The tidbit is scheduled to start production in July 2008 for July 10, 2009 release.
