New York Experienced 'The Happening' Premiere

The latest thriller from renowned scary movie director M. Night Shyamalan has celebrated its premiere event at Ziegfeld Theatre, New York City, on June 10.

AceShowbiz - Following "Sex and the City" star-studded extravaganza premiere held at Radio City Music Hall on May 27, New York City has become a host for another red carpet event. This time, the big apple opened its door for the premiere of sci-fi thriller "The Happening" which took place at Ziegfeld Theatre on Tuesday, June 10.

Compared to "SATC", the special screening affair of M. Night Shyamalan's latest movie wasn't as merry or as star-studded as the romantic comedy flick, but it still saw many Hollywood stars on the red carpet, among them were Abigail Breslin and Mischa Barton. The event was especially attended by most of its stars, including Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel, John Leguizamo, Spencer Breslin and Ashlyn Sanchez as well as its notable director Shyamalan.

From the man who brings out the chill in "Sixth Sense" and "Signs" comes a new paranoia tidbit about an unseen threat causing people to do mass suicide in very violent ways. Amidst the crisis, a young couple, science teacher Elliot Moore and his wife Alma Moore, tries to escape the inevitable in order to save their life, but everywhere they go, it seems that the threat follows. "Happening" will be available in the theaters this Friday, July 13.
