The legendary boy band have added new details regarding their reunion album by revealing its release date.

AceShowbiz - Fans of reunited boy band New Kids On The Block will now give September 8 a special mark on their calender as the group have confirmed it as the release date for their new album. The yet to be titled reunion LP will be outed via Interscope Records.

Commenting about their decision to make an album after more than 20 years of absence, New Kids' Donnie Wahlberg told the press, "Our first goal was always just to make a great album." Moreover Donnie also added his expectation over their new LP saying, "We wanted to work with the best, and have a great team in place so we could make an album that counted."

Meanwhile, revealing about the group's deal with Interscope, New Kids describe it as partnership. This is proved by the fact that not only the record company will handle the album's working process, but the label will also help the boy band in dealing with the merchandise and touring revenue.

Moreover revealing about their deal with Interscope, New Kids' manager, Jared Paul told Billboard.com, "I discussed a lot of options with them, but in the end, it made sense to create a partnership with a label,It makes sense for us to have someone to underwrite six weeks of rehearsal and loss-leader shows like the 'Today' show; it makes sense to work with people who have good deals with great songwriters and a strong online and radio department."

For the new album's promotion, the group have just released the first single from it which is "Summertime" on May 13. Beside that, New Kids will also shoot the music video for the track, which will be directed by Thomas Kloss. Commenting about "Summertime", the pop group's Jordan Knight said, "Songs like "Summertime" have a great, '80s vibe that can be enjoyed by everyone."
