Things to Know About 'Sex and The City'
Movie

Before heading out to the theaters this coming Friday, May 30, moviegoers can get in touch with some engaging facts about the highly anticipated movie first.

AceShowbiz - When you browse into the official site "Sex and the City: The Movie" and get in touch with the story, the first thing you will notice is Carrie Bradshaw's remark stating, "After years of living in the city I assumed that if my friends and I ever got our fairy tale endings that would be the end of the story. But real life - always has a twist." With the release of the dramedy trailer earlier and the exposure of the scene in which Carrie is crying while wearing her wedding dress, the twist may be imminent. But, that is not the only interesting thing encircling this adaptation tidbit. Here are some fun facts garnered from the forthcoming movie.

Starting off the list, it would be nice to discuss first about the cameo appearances, especially with the recent fads of having to have special appearances in feature films. If the forthcoming "The Incredible Hulk" movie is rumored to be having Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man" in it, SATC may do even better. Proud of its hometown, the New York City, the tidbit is going to see the city's mayor, Mike Bloomberg, making his film debut. Unsatisfied with that alone, the film will also feature other notable New Yorkers, naming the American editor-at-large of Vogue magazine, Andre Leon Talley, and famed fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier. On the down side though, SATC fans won't be able to see David Beckham's wife Victoria Adams who has to turn down the cameo offer due to her scheduling conflicts with the rehearsals of Spice Girls reunion tour.

Moving on with the second detail, every "Sex" fan would know that the original HBO series is indeed a trendsetter in fashion. One of which is making shoe designer Manolo Blahnik a household name. Hence, the movie itself could never be separated from its stylish extravaganza. So, what have the filmmakers prepared for the movie? From the buzz surrounding the fashion in the tidbit itself, it seems that the women-friendly film reportedly is ready to create new trend among the ladies. In the movie, the four stylish ladies will be dressed in designers clothing and wear jewelries worth of about $2.5 million. To make sure that the star characters appear to be more sophisticated but still stay true to their original personality, producers brought back SATC original costume designer Patricia Fields. Describing the girls' evolving looks, Fields explained, "They're still the same girls - with modifications. Their style moved with the times."

The third interesting fact from this comedy romantic movie has generated lots of scare and speculations among the fans as well as the moviegoers. Back on April 15 during the Creation Nation comedy show at the Zipper Theater, one of the movie stars, Cynthia Nixon incidentally revealed that a character will die in the SATC movie. Still, the actress portraying Miranda didn't speak out further about whom she was referring to. From then on, many speculations surfaced. One theorized that Big would die of heart attack reasoning on Chris Noth's remark to the Post before the film is even made saying, "In the Sex and the City movie that never happened, Mr. Big had a fatal heart attack and died." But, the speculation on Big's death was soon toned down by director Michael Patrick King who clearly said that his target is to make audience happy and killing Big will do exactly the opposite. The other hypotheses suggested that Charlotte, Samantha or even Steve's mother is the one who is going to be left lifeless. On the possible cause of death, Charlotte may get a tennis freak accident, Samantha would probably have her breast cancer back and Steve's mom may die of Alzheimer's.

Adding up to those entertaining facts, a bunch of other engaging little details are still up for discussion. For one thing, SATC movie is being shot in the same studio where the original HBO series was filmed at Silvercup Studios in Queens. Furthermore, Sarah Jessica Parker has to write a special letter to the directors of the Smithsonian Institution to borrow back Carrie Bradshaw's famous desk for the recreation of Carrie's apartment because soon after the series ended, the desk has been donated to the institution. Aside from those, it should be known that the outdoor filming of some major scenes were done merely to fool off the paparazzi. Another small but important fact let out that the full name of Mr. Big, that is John James Preston, is finally unveiled through the trailer. The name is a tribute to the man King most admired, Preston Sturges. Finally, the most awaited movie follows the life of the four famous New Yorkers for a year.

Bringing back all of its original cast ensemble and several new faces, SATC is ready to glam up the silver screen on May 30. The movie will pick up the story four years after the end of the series and present the fans with a more mature and sophisticated looking Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte as they are once again reunited in a new adventure in the city that never sleeps.
