The Boston rockers have picked "Sequestered in Memphis" as the first single they will release to promote their upcoming album "Stay Positive".

AceShowbiz - Preparing for the release of their upcoming new LP "Stay Positive", The Hold Steady have now confirmed the first single they will unleash from the set. The Boston based rockers plan to drop "Sequestered in Memphis" as the lead single for their next album.

The band has also set the release date for the upcoming single, which will be spawned on May 20 via iTunes. Meanwhile, the band's upcoming LP is being scheduled to hit the stores on July 15.

On an interview with Billboard.com, previously the band have revealed about their influence in the making of the new record. To the website, the band's lead singer Craig Finn said, "I was influenced a lot getting old, and attempting to age gracefully. The idea is to not wake up washed up. You want to keep progressing, intellectually."

Beside getting ready to release their upcoming album, the band are also preparing to hit the road again this coming months. They will begin their official tour on July 17 in Cleveland, but before that the rockers also plan to do some warm-up shows starting from June 8 to June 29. Their complete tour dates are being revealed at the band's MySpace page.
