A representative for Amy Winehouse has confirmed Wednesday, May 14 that the troubled singer will not be charged over her infamous crack-smoking video.

AceShowbiz - Having a troubled life, Amy Winehouse could feel relieved now that it's been confirmed that she won't be charged over her infamous crack-smoking video. A representative for her confirmed Wednesday, May 14 that Amy will not face charges over video footage which appeared to show her inhaling from a crack pipe at her East London home on January 18.

Police, according to the explanation given by spokesman Chris Goodman, had completed a series of investigation and decided that "no further action" will be taken in the case against the songbird. "Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer," Goodman said in a statement.

Amy was secretly filmed smoking crack at her East London home on January 18. Britain's The Sun claimed to have obtained the pictures of her smoking crack and snorting other narcotic substances at around 5 A.M. that day. The Sun, moreover, also posted a footage on its website that captured the British star smoking crack from a glass pipe, and then snorting powdered ecstasy and cocaine. A copy of the video footage reportedly was handed over at the request of the Metropolitan Police and had already been passed to Tower Hamlets detectives to be investigated.

The British songstress checked herself in to police custody last Wednesday, May 7 in connection with the alleged footage. Her spokesperson confirmed her arrest in a statement, saying "Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment. She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is cooperating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year."

She was released from custody after posting bail following several hours of questioning.
