The pop diva's "Hard Candy" has managed to overthrow Mariah Carey's "E=MC2" from the top spot of the U.S. Albums chart.

AceShowbiz - Multi talented pop diva "Madonna"once again proves her existence in the music scene after taking her new album "Hard Candy" to top the Billboard Hot 200 chart this week. The success was due to the album's sale that increases to 280,000 copies. This result puts last week's champion Mariah Carey's "E=MC²" to drop its reign on the chart after selling only 95,000 copies.

Outside from her success with the album, things doesn't always come right for the singer as recently she has just disappointed her fans at her concert in France. Madonna left the crowd devastated by showing up two hours late and performing only for 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, the chart then is followed with Leona Lewis' "Spirit" at #3. Fourth position was taken by Lyfe Jennings with his album "Lyfe Change", while rock band Def Leppard charging in the 5th place through their "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" album.

At #6 The Roots come in with "Rising Down" ahead of Portishhead's "Third" that enters at #7. At number 8, Tom Petty's side project "Mudcrutch" managed to go ahead of compilation album "Now 27" which dropped from its previous 6th position to 9th . The last seat on the top ten is taken by country singer Tim McGraw with his "Greatest Hits Vol. 1 and 2".
