'Terminator Salvation' Gets Common

The fourth installment of the action film made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the late 80's has added a new cast member as rapper Common has been signed to play in it.

AceShowbiz - Often appearing in many action movies apparently helps notable rapper Common to land a role in the latest installment of "Terminator" movie, "Terminator Salvation". In the latest report concerning the Warner Bros. Pictures' tidbit, it is said that the Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist has boarded the project as one of the cast.

In the McG-directed movie that picks up the story of human survival against the artificially intelligent killing robots, the rapper whose real name is Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr. is going to portray a freedom fighter who happens to be a member of John Connor's survivor group. He will be joining the already tapped cast that include Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin and Moon Bloodgood.

Prior to this role, Common has gotten minor roles in several feature films, including "Brown Sugar", "Block Party", "Smokin' Aces" and "American Gangster". In 2008, he can be seen in David Ayer's crime drama "Street Kings" alongside Keanu Reeves, Hugh Laurie and Forest Whitaker and also in Timur Bekmambetov's action sci-fi "Wanted (2008)" with Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman.
