"Everyone goes through things and takes their own path," Duff said at a press event to promote her new movie "War, Inc." Monday, April 28. "Who am I to judge decisions that she made?"

She then went on adding, "People are pushing you to do something, and if you want to do it, that's your choice, you know? It's not what I would choose to do, but if she did then that's fine. That's her choice. And she said she is sorry - she is allowed to be sorry."

Talked about her own rise from teen star, Hilary also revealed to People that she avoided pitfalls by relying on her family and friends to guide her professional decisions. "I've had a lot of help from people. It's a joint effort with my family and everyone helping me balance my life."

Got defended by Joe amidst her battle to keep her good reputation hot on the heels of the leaked shots of her cuddling with boyfriend Thomas Sturges, Miley nevertheless issued an apology for the series of her racy pics that hit the Internet as well as for the not-yet-released Vanity Fair photo shoot.

In a statement issued to People on Sunday, April 27 she said, "My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."
