Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles quietly signed a marriage license last Friday, April 18 in Scarsdale, New York.

AceShowbiz - Putting an end to intense media speculation regarding their marital status, Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles are married already. It has been confirmed by a village clerk that the celebrity couple have filed their signed marriage license last Friday, April 18 in Scarsdale, New York.

While neither of them officially confirmed their much speculated April 4 wedding, Scarsdale Town Clerk Donna Conkling has confirmed to US Weekly the license, which lists the wedding date as April 4, was received by mail last Friday. Jay-Z and Beyonce initially "applied for a marriage license" on April 1, Donna Conkling said in a statement. "They were very low-key and weren't dressed up. They did not have a large entourage."

Obtained the license on the same day, the pair signed the document and mailed it in after the ceremony. "We received it on Friday," Conkling said, adding that "We do have public information on our marriage applicants, and that's one of the things we can confirm."

Despite the fact that Jay-Z and Beyonce's marriage license was filed more than five days after the wedding, as required by law, it is expected that to be processed with the state without a penalty as the fine is frequently waived for new couples.

Jay-Z and Beyonce are notoriously private about their relationship, but they allegedly exchanged wedding vows on April 4 at the rap artist's New York apartment. A lavish wedding party, which reportedly was held after that, was attended by their families and celebrity friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin, Destiny's Child pals Michelle Williams (II) and Kelly Rowland.

Both Jay-Z and Beyonce haven't issued any statement concerning their nuptials thus far.
