Alexis Phifer, Kanye West's fiancee, has confirmed to People that her engagement to the rap artist is off.

AceShowbiz - Report on Kanye West and Alexis Phifer's broken engagement is true. The model-designer has confirmed to People that her engagement to the rap artist and hip hop producer is off.
"It's always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends," Phifer tells People. "I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He's one of the most talented people I've ever met."
Hot on the heels of the broken engagement report, Phifer was seen on the red carpet without her engagement ring at an "Evenings in Vogue" event on Thursday night, April 17 in New York, where her clothing line, Ghita, was featured.
A representative for West, who's still on his nationwide "Glow in the Dark" tour, had no comment on that matter. But a friend of West did confirm the split, telling People the music star and Phifer had "been having problems. Kanye is really focused on his show; he's putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time. They hit a rough patch and for now they've split."
The less time the couple spent together might be the cause for the split as the friend claimed both West and Phifer were rarely seen together in the past few weeks. "I haven't seen [Alexis] around at all the last few times I've seen him recently," the friend added.
Jawn Murray of AOL Black Voices claimed on April 18 that West already called off his engagement to Phifer. He was even said to ask his ring back from her. "Sources close to the hip-hop star tell me that it was West who ended the engagement after revealing to Phifer: 'I just don't think it is going to work out anymore'", Murray has claimed.
