AceShowbiz - Let the gossips keep guessing. Ashlee Simpson is still remaining mum about her widely reported pregnancy. Made an appearance on "The Today Show" Friday, April 18, the singer continued to shrug off questions about the issue when host Matt Lauer quizzed her about "expanding the family."
Stopped by the NBC studios at Rockefeller Center, Ashlee at first talked about her engagement bling, designed by fiance Pete Wentz, saying "I feel like a really lucky lady." After that she took time, singing a song from her new LP "Bittersweet World" which is about to be released Tuesday, April 22.
Much contrary to heavy media speculation that she and Fall Out Boy bassist Wentz are about to marry at a friend's house in La Jolla, Calif., north of San Diego by next month, Ashlee claimed she didn't have a wedding date in mind. "Right now we're just enjoying the engagement," so she said.
And when it comes to the pregnancy reports, she commented "That's been going around for a year now. Only time will tell with that."
Ashlee made public her engagement to Wentz on his official site on April 9. Hot on the heels of the engagement announcement, speculation of a possible pregnancy was quick to spread all over the media. Wentz has called foul the pregnancy rumors in an email he sent to MTV News.
Ashlee herself in fact declined to directly answer questions about whether or not she is expecting a baby during a taping of MTV show "TRL" Tuesday, April 15. She has on Thursday, April 17 told Ryan Seacrest on his KISS-FM radio show that she would like to keep details of her engagement "sacred".
