Movie

The co-star of Daniel Radcliffe in the 'Harry Potter' franchise is said to be taking over the role left by Scarlett Johansson in 'Napoleon and Betsy'.

AceShowbiz - The "Harry Potter" beauty Emma Watson has been rumored to be stepping into the role left by Hollywood starlet Scarlett Johansson. According to Hollywood Reporter, the 18-year-old co-star of Daniel Radcliffe is now attached to the romantic drama "Napoleon and Betsy".

In the period drama film by Benjamin Ross, the English actress is going to fill the shoes of Betsy Balcombe, a young noble woman who fall in love with Napoleon. Allegedly, Watson gets Balcombe's role because Johansson has to step aside as the character is made to be younger than the original plan. If she is indeed included the cast, She is expected to join the production which is allegedly planned to begin sometime in Fall 2008.

Claimed to be based on the true story of Napoleon Bonaparte, "Betsy" tells the story of the famous ruler's last years on the isolated British Isle of St. Helena from the point of view of an English girl who is romantically involved with him. The film that is developed by scribbler/director Benjamin Ross is said to be co-produced by Johansson, Alexandra Milchan, Melanie Sloan and Gilles Arondeau.

Watson is currently involved in the production of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", which is the sixth installment of the "Harry Potter" franchise. In 2009, the actress who earlier was rumored to be dating her co-star Radcliffe will be back to join Radcliffe and Rupert Grint in the production of the last J.K. Rowling's series "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Apart from her "Harry Potter" part, Watson has appeared in a television movie "Ballet Shoes" and has lend her voice to Princess Pea of "The Tale of Despereaux".
