Australian actress Cate Blanchett has given birth to her third child, a boy, with hubby Andrew Upton on Sunday, April 13, her spokesman has confirmed.

AceShowbiz - This just in. A spokesman for Cate Blanchett has just issued a confirmation that the Australian actress has given birth to her third child with husband, playwright/screenwriter Andrew Upton, on Sunday, April 13.

The newborn baby was boy and named Ignatius Martin Upton. He was born at a Sydney hospital and weighed 7.94 pounds (3.6kg). "All are well and very happy," said Tim McKeough, media relations manager at the Sydney Theatre Company, where Blanchett and Upton are co-artistic directors.

Blanchett, an Academy Award-winning actress, officially confirmed her third pregnancy way back in November 2007 during a red carpet appearance in Sydney for the premiere of her movie, "Elizabeth: The Golden Age", following a heavy media coverage on speculation of a pregnancy.

"Yes, I am," so she said when being asked by reporters if she's expecting. Won't disclose the sex of her bun in the oven, she simply told reporters that she was due to give birth in April.

Blanchett and Upton have been married since 1997. They are parents to sons Dashiell John and Roman Robert.

Blanchett will soon be seen on the big screen, starring in the highly-anticipated action-adventure "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" which will have its first screening on May 18 at the Cannes Film Festival before being released worldwide on May 22.
