Actor Sean Penn and his wife, actress Robin Wright Penn, have on Tuesday, April 8 been granted a dismissal of their divorce petitions filed in December.

AceShowbiz - Initially filed for divorce in December 2007, Sean Penn and his actress wife Robin Wright Penn have both agreed to end the proceedings, seeking to halt their divorce. In a one-page document filed Tuesday, April 8 in Marin County Superior Court, the clerk dismissed the couple's divorce petitions at their request.

The request to dismiss the divorce shows the withdrawal was made "without prejudice." A spokeswoman for Penn declined to comment, and no further details have been made available thus far.

Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn got married on April 27, 1996. They are parents to son Hopper Jack and daughter Dylan Frances. The couple have starred together in several movies, including "She's So Lovely" (1997) and "Hurlyburly" (1998).
