Lions Gate Films reportedly have announced that the horror film based on Clive Barker's 1984 short story 'The Midnight Meat Train' has been cut off from its May schedule.

AceShowbiz - Earlier speculations about the dropping of the release schedule of "The Midnight Meat Train" were true after all. On March 25, 2008, ShockTillYouDrop reported that Lions Gate Films has officially pushed back the theatrical release schedule of the horror thriller film which was previously set to bow in theaters on May 16.
Further, the movie news site noted that neither the replacement date nor the reason behind the schedule rearranging have yet been made public by the studio. Still, an insider source has reportedly revealed to STYD that helmer Ryuhei Kitamura was not thrilled with the fact that the film has to be up against "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" in its original date.
Earlier, it was reported that there is a big possibility that the release date of "Midnight Meat" which features Bradley Cooper, Vinnie Jones, Brooke Shields and Leslie Bibb among others might be changed. At the time, STYD noted, "It looks like Lionsgate is going to bump Midnight Meat Train from the May slot."
Based on Clive Barker's 1984 short story of the same name, "Midnight Meat" follows the story of Leon Kaufman, a struggling photographer whose fascination to the dark site leads him and his girlfriend straight to a subway serial killer. The film originally set to be directed by Patrick Tatopoulos, but he left the production in 2006 and was replaced by Japanese helmer Ryuhei Kitamura. With Kitamura, the filming began on March 18, 2007 in Los Angeles.
