Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette are recruiting their celebrity friends to raise $1m for Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare skin condition that primarily affects children.

AceShowbiz - Courteney Cox is enlisting the help of her celebrity friends in a bid to raise $1 million fund for Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare skin condition that primarily affects children. Cox, her husband David Arquette, and their celebrity pals are all challenged to raise such amount of money in two weeks to benefit the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.

Joining Cox and Arquette in the awareness-and money-raising effort are close friend Jennifer Aniston, Orlando Bloom, Kate Beckinsale, Rashida Jones, James Marsden, Eva Longoria Parker, Aniston's ex-husband, Brad Pitt, Gwen Stefani, and Gavin Rossdale. Cox and Arquette are heading up the effort as members of the honorary advisory board of the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, where Aniston, Pitt, Rossdale and Stefani are also members.

Speaking about the money-raising project, Cox said "EB is very personal to me, so I'm happy to be a part of this $1 million challenge. Now is such an important time to put the spotlight on EB and ensure that research can continue at a fast pace."

Epidermolysis Bullosa is a debilitating genetic disorder that causes the skin to blister and break at the slightest touch. Victims are often covered in burn-like sores that may cover up to 75 percent of the body that never heal and most don't live beyond age 30. There are reportedly as many as 100,000 Americans who may have some form of the condition.
