Fall Out Boy will be the first band to play in 7 different continents within 9 months when they perform in front of scientists in Antarctica.

AceShowbiz - Rock act Fall Out Boy are breaking boundaries by attempting to break a world record performing in seven continents within 9 months. The four-piece will travel to Antarctica, the Earth's southernmost continent, and perform there on March 25 in front of a team of assembled scientists at a set up gymnasium.
The band's management company announced that they will board on a private jet from Chile to the cold region and enter the Guinness Book of World Records. They have visited the other five continents since last Summer, with gigs in South Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. They will conquer the sixth, which is South America, on March 23 when they perform in Santiago, Chile.
"Well, I was just sitting around and wrote (FOB's manager) Bob (McLynn) an e-mail saying, 'Let's be the first band to go to all five continents' - only he wrote wrote me back, 'There are seven,' " bassist Pete Wentz told MTV News. "Since then we have been working on it. Lately it's kind of gone into overdrive though, because after this flight to Antarctica there really aren't any other ones we could get on until winter ends. And yes, we'll be seeing penguins."
Not only the adjudicators from Guinness who will tag along with them to witness and record it in the big book, people from Greenpeace will also be on-board to do a campaign. A team from the environment-friendly organization will document the the impact of global warming in Antarctica and use it to raise the awareness.
