The Raconteurs are forgoing four-month lead time for second album, Consolers of the Lonely and will release it as early as next week.

AceShowbiz - The Raconteurs will pack and deliver their sophomore album "Consolers of the Lonely" to be released as soon as next week. On such fast and sudden announcement, the rock band fronted by Jack White explained that they are going against the four-month delay that record labels usually request before putting the set in stores for promotional events.

"We wanted to explore the idea of releasing an album everywhere at once and THEN marketing and promoting it thereafter," the band explained. "The Raconteurs would rather this release not be defined by its first week sales, pre-release promotion or by someone defining it FOR YOU before you get to hear it."

The album was not even wrapped up the beginning of this month, but the band said in a statement that the album will come out anyway on March 25 via Third Man/Warner Bros. "The purpose: to get the album to the fans as soon as possible and as we promised," the band stated. "We wanted to get this record to fans, the press, radio, etc., all at the EXACT SAME TIME so that no one has an upper hand on anyone else regarding it's availability, reception or perception."

The statement that was released via the act's publicity firm, Presshere, also announced that the album will be available in a variety of formats like CD and Vinyl and can be found at several retailers like digital outlets and "corporate superstores". The statement further read, "Some places couldn't move this fast, so they will join in as soon as they can."

This movement is similar to Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails latest releases that break through traditional way of releasing an album. The Raconteurs' official site will offer the album in its entirety for a digital download while its tracks will be available on iTunes and Amazon.com. There will be no bonus tracks and the first single "Salute Your Solution" will take impact on-line on March 25.
