Following many speculations that the last 'Harry Potter' book will be made into two films, it has been confirmed that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be developed into two parts.

AceShowbiz - Earlier rumors claiming that the last "Harry Potter" series will be made into two films are indeed true. According to Los Angeles Times, Warner Bros. Pictures and the producers of the highly successful film series will be announcing about the splitting of the seventh Harry Potter book entitled "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" on Thursday, March 13.
L.A. Times reported further that the two final films will be simply named "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II". The two films will be directed by "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" helmer David Yates and written by Steve Kloves. It is expected to hit the theaters in November 2010 and in May 2011 respectively.
Concerning the splitting of the book, producer David Heyman commented, "It was born out of purely creative reasons. Unlike every other book, you cannot remove elements of this book." Additionally, the president and chief operating officer of Warner Bros. Entertainment Alan Horn insisted that the splitting is done to celebrate the end of the story. "This way, we have an extra hour and a half, at least, to celebrate what this franchise has been and do justice to all the words and ideas that Jo has put in the amazing story," he said. "This is the end of the story too. We want to celebrate it. We want to give a full meal."
