The Disney's action fantasy film 'Prince of Persia: Sands of Time' will be directed by 'Harry Potter 4' director in Morocco.

AceShowbiz - The Walt Disney Pictures' film "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" has signed the "Love in the Time of Cholera" and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" helmer Mike Newell. According to reports, the 65-year-old British director has been set to shoot the video game adaptation movie in a North African country, Morocco.

The report has been let out by Dune Films company on Wednesday, March 5. Concerning the filming location, Jimmy Abounouom, the Dune Films' representative for the Moroccan shoot, stated, "Producers are always looking for cheap places to shoot and Morocco is one of them." Further, he revealed that the Moroccan filming is expected to start in mid-June.

Produced by the man that brings "Pirates of the Caribbean" Jerry Bruckheimer, "Persia" is an action adventure film based on a video game that is set in medieval Persia. It is said that the film centers on a prince that joins his rival in an effort to save the world from a deathly sandstorm. The script is penned by Jeffrey Nachmanoff and Jordan Mechner. The film, which will also be shot in Blighty's Pinewood Shepperton studios, is scheduled to be released on June 16, 2009.
