AceShowbiz - Lisa Marie Presley, who initially wanted to keep her pregnancy private, was forced to officially confirm the good news due to the "media scrutiny". The singer-songwriter, the daughter of the late King of Rock 'n' Roll Elvis Presley, confirmed, with excitement and yet a great deal of reluctance, on her MySpace Celebrity blog Thursday, March 6 that she and her husband Michael Lockwood are expecting their first child together.
The 40-years-old Elvis heir officially announced her pregnancy in a message titled "Confirmation under the gun" on her MySpace blog. The post came in response to the cruel comments the news media addressed to her concerning her looking heavier.
"After being the target all week of slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles in the media, I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant," so Presley wrote.
Hoping her pregnancy confirmation could "stop all of the harassment, and I can stop dodging the continuous bullets", Presley continued writing, "It is unfortunate that I couldn't have announced something that is this much of a blessing and that has made us so incredibly happy under better circumstances."
Presley and her husband, music producer Michael Lockwood, are about to welcome the baby next fall. It will be the third child for Presley, who has two children from her marriage to ex-husband Danny Keough.
Report on Presley's third pregnancy surfaced late last month. A spokesperson for her who was asked about that matter declined to comment though, saying "She is not one to comment on her personal life."
