Amy Winehouse has been diagnosed with impetigo, a skin infection that leaves pimple-like lumps and is highly contagious.

AceShowbiz - It appears that the Amy Winehouse's drama would never come to an end. The troubled singer has just been diagnosed with impetigo, her spokesman confirms to People.
Amy sparked concern that she might have been involved in a fight after she was photographed with a painful-looking swelling on the side of her face Friday, February 29. But her representative has confirmed her swollen face is down to a bout of impetigo and the singer will have to spend time in isolation to stop the infection from spreading.
Impetigo, according to the Mayo Clinic Website as quoted by People, is a bacterial skin infection that causes pimple-like lumps - and "is highly contagious, and scratching or touching the sores is likely to spread the infection to other parts of the body as well as to other people."
Speaking on Amy's condition, her representative told People "Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo, which she has been told can be highly contagious. Because of that she has been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days."
One of Amy's friends, meanwhile, claimed "She's fine. She's not hiding away. She's never been one to care what people think."
