Tackling another film project, Rhys Ifans has been signed to play a deejay for a pirate radio show in 'The Boat That Rocked'.

AceShowbiz - The "Notting Hill" star Rhys Ifans has agreed to star in a new comedy project for Universal Picture. Variety reported that the 39-year-old Welsh actor is set to be playing a pirate radio show's deejay in England in "The Boat That Rocked".
In the Richard Curtis-directed film, the BAFTA-nominated actor will be joined by Kenneth Branagh and January Jones. Branagh will portray another deejay for the radio show, while Jones depicts an American woman who visits the boat used for the show and finds herself to be in love with Ifans' character.
Penned by Curtis, the filming is slated to start on March 3 in London. The movie produced also by Curtis alongside Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Hilary Bevan-Jones is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in 2009.
Ifans' film credits include Keanu Reeves' "The Replacement" and Reese Witherspoon's "Vanity Fair". Recently, he appeared in acclaimed drama "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and thriller "Hannibal Rising". His next projects are two upcoming drama films, "Mr. Nobody" starring Jared Leto and Sarah Polley, and "The Informers" alongside Billy Bob Thornton, Winona Ryder and Kim Basinger.
