Emmylou Harris Among 2008 Country Hall of Fame Inductees

Emmylou Harris, The Statler Brothers, Tom T. Hall and the late singer Ernest "Pop" Stoneman are made the members of the Hall of Fame this year.

The Country Music hall of Fame have added a fresh batch of inductees that will be included as their members this year. Four musicians from the genre have been selected, including singer , singer/songwriter Tom T. Hall, country group The Statler Brothers and late singer/songwriter Ernest "Pop" Stoneman.

The line-up was announced on Tuesday, February 12 by Country Music Association and the four acts will be formally inducted at the annual medallion ceremony tentatively set for April 27. With their inclusion, the Hall of Fame is totaled to have 105 members.

"I've been thinking about this incredible journey I've been on and how I've been blessed," Harris said upon named as one of the inductees. "It's wonderful to be a member of this place that holds so much reverence for me." Hall meanwhile, made his comment short by saying "It's very spiritual. I'm delighted to be standing where I am today," adding that he will save the comment for the actual ceremony.

The Statler brother who started their career as the backing vocal group of also shared their thoughts on the honor. Member Don Reid said, "We feel like we're in rarified air here, we never expected to be here. We always looked at the Hall of Fame as a place where our heroes were."
