Said to be starting the production on Monday, February 11, the upcoming action film experiences a brief set back as it has to replace David Murray with Chris Eccleston as the famous villain.

AceShowbiz - As the action film "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" starts filming the principal photography on Monday, February 11, it was reported that the villainous character Destro had to be re-casted. IESB reported that the "28 Days Later" star Christopher Eccleston has been signed to replace David Murray for the coveted role.

The replacing of the actors was done because Murray who was originally chosen to depict the character withdrew from the film. Allegedly, the Irish-born actor was forced to do so over visa issues. IESB reported that the actor was not able to obtain a U.S. working visa in time for the production's start.

About the start of the filming, Hasbro's President and Chief Executive Alfred J. Verrecchia revealed that the production will start on the scheduled plan on Monday, February 11. To Associated Press, Verrecchia said, "Two Hasbro-related live-action movies are scheduled to be released in 2009 - Transformers 2 and G.I. Joe, based on the Hasbro action figure starts shooting Monday."
