Marisa Tomei Stripteasing in 'The Wrestler'

Having agreed to join in the indie project about retired wrestler trying to make a comeback, the Oscar-winning actress is going to portray a stripper in the film.

AceShowbiz - The Mona Lisa Vito in 1992's crime comedy "My Cousin Vinny" Marisa Tomei has agreed to join the cast of independent drama "The Wrestler". According to Variety, the 43-year-old actress has been signed to star as the leading female in the Darren Aronofsky directed-film.

Playing opposite "Man on Fire" star Mickey Rourke, the Academy Award-winning actress is set to depict a stripper who lives under one roof with Randy "The Ram" Robinson. Rourke will be playing The Ram, a wrestler who was forced to retire following a heart attack.

Penned by Aronofsky and Robert Siegel, the indie film resolves around Rourke's characters who is an over-the-hill 1980s' professional wrestler trying to make his way back to the business for a final match with his former rival. It is reported that the film has started filming in New York and New Jersey.

In 2007, Tomei has appeared alongside Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy in "Wild Hogs". Most recently, she starred as Gina Hanson opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman in "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead". She will next be seen in a dark political satire film "War, Inc." with John Cusack and Hilary Duff.
