The treasure seeker-romantic film has found its gold in domestic theaters as it became the box office champion beating out last week top earner 'Hannah Montana' 3-D concert film.

AceShowbiz - The twice on-screen pair, Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, once more worked their magic on the moviegoers as they again charmed the audiences to boost their latest romantic comedy "Fool's Gold" into the top spot at the three-day weekend domestic box office. According to studio estimation ended Sunday, February 10, the Warner Bros' film struck rich by stacking an estimated $22 million from 3,125 theaters in its debut on the box office.

The Andy Tennant directed-film grossed a little short from the opening sales of the two stars' first hit romance "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" which got $23.8 million. With Valentine's Day is coming around the corner, the Warners' Vice President of distribution Jeff Goldstein remained positive that the film about divorced couple who reunite to discover the 18th century treasure lost at sea will draw more moviegoers throughout the romantic event. "Love is in this air," the executive commented "This movie is light entertainment, and we need that. There's too much reality out there."

"Gold" was followed by Universal Pictures' family comedy starring Martin Lawrence "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins" which opened at the second position with an approximately $17.1 million. Meanwhile, last week winner Disney's "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour", which is experiencing a 66.2|percent| drop in sales fell to the third place, earning only $10.5 million. In its second week previewing, the 3-D film chronicling the concert of teenage superstar, Miley Cyrus, has grossed of about $53.4 million.

The fourth position went to Jessica Alba's horror thriller remake "The Eye". Once again, the film failed to deliver as it saw a 46.6|percent| sales decline, grossing merely around $6.6 million. Coming back to the top 5 was acclaimed teenage pregnancy drama comedy "Juno" that pulled in an estimated $5.7 million, whereas bridesmaid drama comedy "27 Dresses" was thrown out from the five best earning film list. The Katherine Heigl-starring film slipped to the sixth slot garnering about $5.7 million.

The older stars-starring films, "The Bucket List" and "Rambo" filled in the next two spots respectively. Staying firm in the seventh place was Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman's adventure drama comedy with approximately $5.3 million, while the Sylvester Stallone's action film dropped three positions to number 8 earning only about $4.1 million.

The ninth position was earned by the former box office champion "Meet the Spartans" with $4.07 million. The ancient Greek hero spoof plunged three places from its original fifth slot last weekend. Rounding up the top ten was acclaimed greedy oilman tale "There Will Be Blood". The movie starring awards winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis maintained its position on the tenth position by grossing about $4.07 million.
