Amy Winehouse, Best New Artist at 50th Grammys

Previously nabbed Best Pop Vocal Album and Female Pop Performance, Amy Winehouse took the coveted title Best New Artist at 50th Annual Grammy Awards.

AceShowbiz - The 50th Annual Grammy Awards taking place at Los Angeles' Staples Center has started giving away its statuettes. Amy Winehouse, despite her absence from the event, garnered early winning by taking home the Female Pop Performance for "Rehab".

Winehouse's second winning meanwhile, granted her the nod of Best Pop Vocal Album for "Back to Black". Also, the latest she got is Best New Artist. Justin Timberlake on the other hand is also catching up by taking the Male Pop Vocal Performance for "What Goes Around...Comes Around". He also nabbed Best Dance Recording for "LoveStoned/I Think She Knows", sharing it with producer Danja, Timbaland and Jimmy Douglass.

Bruce Springsteen also got some share of spotlight when he took several titles, namely Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance, Best Rock Song for "Radio Nowhere" and Best Rock Instrumental Performance for "Once Upon a Time in the West".

Other winner is The White Stripes, who through their latest release, "Icky Thump", garnered Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group. Foo Fighters gained one count for Best Hard Rock Performance for their single "The Pretender".

In the R'n'B field, Alicia Keys who earlier in the evening performed a duet with hologram Frank Sinatra, won Best R'n'B Song for "No One". Ne-Yo also triumphed with Best Contemporary R'n'B Album for "Because of You".

Other winners in the star-studded evening are Beastie Boys, Chemical Brothers, Patti Austin. Stay tuned for more winners.
